Community Safety Advice - Blackfordby Area

We’ve recently received reports of young people accessing derelict buildings in the Blackfordby area.

These locations can be unsafe and unpredictable, with risks such as unstable structures, falling debris, exposed materials, and difficulty for emergency services to access if someone is injured.

We are asking parents and carers to have a conversation with young people about:

The serious risks posed by derelict buildings

Where they are spending their time

Making safe choices when out with friends

The Beat Team is aware of the issue and will continue to engage, patrol, and work with partners to reduce risks and keep people safe.
